Orocovis
This mountainous municipality, known as the heart of Puerto Rico, is the geographical center of the Island, located in the middle of the Sierra de Cayey. The area is home to four rivers and two lakes (a result of dams).

Morovis
Morovis is known as “The Island minus Morovis”. This is due to a cholera epidemic that hit the entire island in 1853.

Ciales
Ciales is a municipality in the central mountainous region of Puerto Rico. It was founded on June 24, 1820 by Isidro Rodríguez. It is also known as “The City of Cohoba”, “The Land of Coffee” and “Ciales, Gate of the Central Mountain Range”.

Corozal
Corozal is a municipality in the central region, slightly to the north of Puerto Rico. Founded in 1795 by Joaquín Marrero and José de Rivera Ortiz, it became an official municipality in 1804 and is also known as “the capital of volleyball” and “the banana trees.”

Jayuya
It is said that the word “jayuya” comes from the indigenous word “Hayuya” which means “place of guayos.” Other historians maintain that the name Jayuya comes from the Taíno chief Hayuya.
